Amazon Gift Card Issues

In November this my daughter received a £15 Amazon gift card bought from the local Spar. When I tried to redeem this on Amazon it said it was an invalid code. Having spoken to their customer service rep, they said I needed to take the matter up with the Spar who sold it to my. So today I go with my receipt only to be told it’s nothing to do with them I need to call Paypoint.... so I go home and call them only to find their lines have no real people on the end of the line. Next I go back to the Spar who at this point are starting to be even less helpful and trying to pass the buck.... eventually I speak to the manager who was more empathetic and promised to get this sorted.... question is who is responsible for this? I would’ve thought the retailer I bought it from?

Did Amazon tell you it hasn't been activated or wasn't a genuine card? If the former why can't they just activate it?
  • They just said there was something wrong with it and they were unable to see what from their end. Looking through the forum this looks like a standard reply when a voucher is faulty through a 3rd party. Just hope the store manager can sort otherwise I’m in the middle with nobody taking responsibility and my daughter with a gift card with no cash on it...
