Amazon Gift Card Issues

In November this my daughter received a £15 Amazon gift card bought from the local Spar. When I tried to redeem this on Amazon it said it was an invalid code. Having spoken to their customer service rep, they said I needed to take the matter up with the Spar who sold it to my. So today I go with my receipt only to be told it’s nothing to do with them I need to call Paypoint.... so I go home and call them only to find their lines have no real people on the end of the line. Next I go back to the Spar who at this point are starting to be even less helpful and trying to pass the buck.... eventually I speak to the manager who was more empathetic and promised to get this sorted.... question is who is responsible for this? I would’ve thought the retailer I bought it from?

Did Amazon tell you it hasn't been activated or wasn't a genuine card? If the former why can't they just activate it?0

They just said there was something wrong with it and they were unable to see what from their end. Looking through the forum this looks like a standard reply when a voucher is faulty through a 3rd party. Just hope the store manager can sort otherwise I’m in the middle with nobody taking responsibility and my daughter with a gift card with no cash on it...
