I live close to a canal and fancied getting a kayak for day trips (I know I'll need a license), but have no idea what to look for in one.
The only one I have looked at is the Sevylor Waterton, which seems to be a good option as it has a rigid bottom (being quite accident prone I'm bound to scratch it on something).
Does anyone have any thoughts? Stability in the water is my main issue, plus it being easy to fold/carry.

My husband and I have recently purchased an inflatable kayak that uses the new drop stitch technology. Unfortunately, it is a lot more expensive than the Sevylor Waterton but, I have to say, it is well worth the money. It is called a Sea Eagle SE 473Rl RazorLite. It is just like a rigid kayak due to the drop stitch technology. We were used to using a rigid Islander Salsa kayak so wanted something similar to that and the Sea Eagle couldn't have been more perfect. Stability, and being able to go in a straight line, are not normally things you associate with inflatable kayaks but the Sea Eagle scores extremely well on both counts. It packs up into a very large rucksack (which comes with the Sea Eagle) so you can carry it on your back. All in all, a very good purchase. Hope that helps.1

Thanks @supersaver21 that does look incredible. I like the tall back seats. I suffer from back pain so the height of the seats is another thing to consider.0

Yes the seats are great. We haven't been disappointed at all with our purchase. Good luck with whatever you decide to purchase, and have fun1

We bought ourselves this inflatable kayak from Decathlon last year and think its great fun.....we're only beginners and only use it on holiday or hopefully the occasional weekend on the local canal, so we didn't want to spend too much. We're really happy with our purchase - its quick and easy to inflate/deflate, not too heavy to carry to and from the water, and seems pretty decent quality for the price. We've used it on lakes and rivers - even taking it over some small rapids on the Ardeche without incident. We do struggle to go in a straight line....but we expected that from an inflatable, and it probably has something to do with our paddling technique too
