FlightNetwork - Useless - Please help

Booked flexi-tickets for obvious reasons, but with the news we're not allowed to travel from UK to Canary Islands, we can't go.

FlightNetwork were useless and denied this and said the flights are still running?! To cancel, we have to contact airlines, then let FlightNetwork know, and they'll charge us around £65 each!
I said but we're not allowed to travel, due to Covid, he said "oh the cancellation would be £30 each then".
Logged into Ryanair website, all their travel info is out of date.... no word of our flights being canceled.
Don't know where we stand with Jet2 as technically that flight isn't cancelled as far as I'm aware.
All of these companies are useless, no help at all.... i'm worried i'm going to miss whatever deadlines they have and end up forfeiting my flights.
Please help!!

First, I think you should edit your post and remove the booking locator numbers. At the moment with travel dates, flight information and booking locators someone may access your bookings.
I am not sure that either of these flights are flexible/refundable. Both airlines may however be offering travel waivers given current circumstances. If the flights operate (and the RyanAir one might well) then the airline does not need to offer a refund or credit. Any credit offered is a goodwill gesture. A claim against the flight cost may however be possible from your travel insurance. You would need to check the specific conditions of your policy.
FlightNetwork is just an online ticket seller. What they can do/willing to do will be limited.1 -
Thanks I've edited the image.
How can the flight go ahead if UK citizens are banned from going there?! I'm so frustrated and confused by it all.
I don't have insurance as it was a recent booking, and no-one was willing to cover covid. That's why I got the flexible tickets which themselves are very limited, can only change date and nothing else so has to be same operator, same destination etc. No point doing that as you can only do it once and we have no idea if/when we can go again.

They know nothing more than you. In due course there'll make a decision.MARKMAKAVELI said:

I'm due to fly out on the 5th though. I know I can't....but I fear that my inaction will be used against me. They'll turn around after the 5th and say "you should have done x,y,z we can't help you now".Thrugelmir said:

Far from a perfect situation. In these cases you may have to accept somethings won’t go your way or fit the ideal.
The inability to travel is not the airline’s fault and could be also argued that they should not have a financial loss if you are unable to travel. Many airlines will however offer a travel waiver and allow you to move travel to later in 2021 or give a credit. Fairly obviously this means the same airline has to be used for future travel, you cannot get a Jet2 credit and use it for example on TUI.
Country entry restrictions or the U.K. Government saying those in Tier 4 should not travel overseas is both unfortunate and not your fault, but also not the fault of the two airline or FlightNetwork.
A travel insurance claim may have mitigated losses but you said you did not buy any. You have in effect you have self-insured your trip. Unfortunately the claim and loss therefore sits with you.
I think best outcome, whilst not ideal, is to check for and take up any offer of a travel waiver from both Ryan Air and Jet 2. You may think and feel these are limiting but unless the flights are actually cancelled then this might be the best you will get.
Should both/either airline ultimately cancel these flights then you are entitled to a refund on that flight sector. Both however are separate. You don’t have a right to a refund from say Jet2 if their flight operates yet the Ryan Air one is cancelled.1 -
Thanks Westin, really useful reply.0

The problem is while you’re not allowed entry, some people are - people who live there, travel for work etc - so flights are still running. While unfortunate, the entry requirements aren’t the airline or travel agents problem - they don’t owe you a refund because of this, you’re still bound by your terms of booking. If the terms of your flexi ticket say you can only move the dates, then that’s all you can do.1

who has advised that the Ryanair flight has been cancelled? they are still selling selling tickets for the flightMARKMAKAVELI said:Logged into Ryanair website, all their travel info is out of date.... no word of our flights being canceled.
This is the Ryanair information assuming you booked after 10th June - https://www.ryanair.com/ie/en/useful-info/no-change-fee
note: to avail of ‘Free Flight Change Fee’, flight changes must take place at least 7 days before the original scheduled departure dates (you may find with standard change fees you may end up just throwing the tickets away as it may not be worth changing)1 -
I think I assumed it was because we can't fly but as you've said, people still can so they won't help me out if they don't have to.
I'll try and amend tomo. If not I guess I've just gotta hope the flexi ticket works an we get lucky with another date in the future.0 -
There is a strange species that I'm sure you've never heard of, called Spaniards. Spanish residents who are citizens of other countries can use the flights, as (I believe) can any EU citizen.MARKMAKAVELI said:Thanks I've edited the image.

Ryanair don't sell flexible tickets. You may be able to change dates/destination at a higher price than booking a new ticket.
If one sector is cancelled, your best bet will be to get a refund then. This will not cancel the second sector and you will be unable to claim a refund.
Always book directly with a reputable airline (which doesn't include Ryanair) in future if not on a package, to ensure you can deal with the airline without an agency fee.💙💛 💔1
