Oh look, now you're here, you must have a cup of tea? Coffee? Well, actually, I wouldn't try the coffee - it's that ersatz stuff and I rather suspect acorns are involved... but the gingerbread is jolly nice. Where's that bloomin' tin got to now? I swear it grows legs and runs away, you know...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

Is anyone else expecting Noah to float past in his ark? It is tipping down here. Heaviest rain I've experienced outside a tropical storm/cyclone. Just as well the village hall is above the flood plain.

I really must get on with drawing that map for the noticeboard... I shall try to have it done for the end of the year, so we all know just where we are next year, how's that?
What needs to go on it? The villages, of course - Much Mending on the Borrow, here with the Village Hall, and then Little Mending further along - and the Borrow, of course, meandering along in its flood plain... the Air Force base of course (has @TwibbleDee's pilot husband been posted to another base? Haven't seen her lately - hope all is well, Twibbers!)... and the cricket pitch...2025 remaining: 37 coupons from 66:

(Do we have a rowing club? Perhaps they could use the undercroft of the village hall to store their shells?)"Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

Sadly, @Laura_Elsewhere, the Drops and Jamiesons have gone straight into DD2's stash, and a baby hat is already under construction! Plus she's taken some of the marble chunky. DS1's lovely partner has gone off clutching an armful of marble chunky, a self-striping sock yarn and some other bits "to practice on", I've got enough to weave several tri-shawls or even blankets, and the rest (mostly Paintbox acrylic DK) will be going off to the Activities Co-ordinator at Mum's care home, for the knitting group. But yes, please, to any spare odds & ends, and thank you for the kind offer!
@Liverpool_Anne, triangles tesselate nicely, so you can stitch (or crochet) 4 x 3½' pieces together to make a full 7' tri-shawl, or 8 to make a square blanket or poncho. I sometimes weave rags or silk selvedges on every other "peg" and stitch the resulting triangle into a bag. See https://www.ravelry.com/projects/thriftwizard/the-not-a-tri-shawl-bag; like the twined-weave rugs, it's a very simple form of weaving, but what you can do with the results is limited only by your imagination!Angie - GC Sept 25: £226.44/£450: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 28/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5 -
@Thriftwizard, thanks for the information. I did think you could stitch them together but was a bit confused as the utube thing I watched left the threads hanging on the sides to make a lovely fringe. I can be quite imaginative and I definitely want to give weaving a try, it's on my list
Take care everyone6 -
@PipneyJane, thanks for the information re blocking, yes I always use a pressing cloth on woolen fabrics but to be honest I have never ironed a knitted or crocheted garment, I generally just pull them into shape when wet and leave them to dry, sometimes flat if they need it, but not always6
