What part of buying your first home did you find most stressful?

Genuinely I don't remember ever getting stressed buying my first home.
There was no chain. I was a FTB (obviously) and my vendor was moving in with a new partner. Once we'd completed I was still living with parents so could move in at my own pace (my first night in the house was 9 days after completing).
My offer was accepted within a matter of hours. No haggling or "best and final" / offers over etc.
Getting a mortgage offer went smoothly.
The conveyancing process was straightforward (took about 8 weeks from offer to exchange).
I don't ever remember once getting frustrated or stressed.
My 2nd purchase........ Now that's a different story!!!1 -

First home - hoping that we would be accepted by the Housing Association (Shared Ownership). Second home - hoping that our buyer would be accepted by the Housing Association (first buyer wasn’t). Third (current and hopefully last!) home - trying to find removals thanks to the extended Stamp Duty holiday/reduction. All the paperwork was ready for 30.9 - but I couldn’t get removals (and before anyone asks why we didn’t move ourselves, I’m disabled, my husband has a bad back, and it was moving a 3 bed into a 4 bed simultaneously. In the past we’ve moved ourselves (helped by parents who could drive a 7.5 tonne van!) but that was pre children and driving licence renewal aged 70!)
I do not intend to move again. Ever. We can adapt the ground floor for when we can’t manage stairs.1 -

The one occasion a sale didn't go to plan was because the EA was a lazy article and was highly stressful for me. I made the swine sweat until the eleventh hour and 59th minute, no less than he deserved.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

It's so much easier to just do you.

I bought my first house in my twenties. I'm now in my fifties and so the experiences I have had with other stresses knock buying and selling into oblivion and I can honestly say it doesn't even touch the sides in comparison to other stuff. Although I just remember being excited about our lovely one bed flat.1

Many years ago - FTB buying new build and being told we'd failed the credit check for a mortgage due to a CCJ. 18months previously we were renting a property and a utility bill was issued to us using my boyfriend's first name and my surname. We asked for a corrected bill, which was paid. But the original bill had never been cancelled and somehow was just passed to a debt collection agency. We had a frantic few days sorting it out and getting the debt cancelled.
