So he has hypothyroidism. I have that but have never been told to avoid dairy. I love dairy food and haven't had a problem. I do claim pip but that was based on my deafness. They did ask about my hypothyroidism and how it affects me and its mainly energy and memory if I don't take. It. Also my eyes feel really tired. I take mine at night even if I have had food before. It works great for me.
Just be careful that it would likely prove harder to prove what affects it has a on a child. Although levothyroxinenis a life long medication and if not taken can result in other issues in the body.Mortgage free wannabe

Yes he has central hypothyroidism, his problem is with his pituitary gland rather than his thyroid tho so it's actually classed as hypopituitarism which is why we have to keep an eye for other hormones/cortisol failing or signs of adrenal failure.Sncjw said:So he has hypothyroidism. We were told to avoid dairy and soy as they can affect the absorbtion of levothyroxine in some cases and its important to keep his t4 at the high range of normal to hopefully avoid any further developmental delays
You will know yourself I'm sure alot of people we have came across even in endocrinology have told us they know very little about these conditions and just treat them as needed trying to get it down on paper is complicated.0 -
