Had a nice Christmas day with youngest son and his family. Grandson says he saw Rudolph in his garden! Played with my new toy yesterday, a slow cooker that they bought me. Made a chicken casserole and there is enough for today as well.
red ruby so sorry to hear your news.
Snow is forecast for us tomorrow so I predict a day in front of the log burner

Yesterday was Christmas day2 as DH was working on 25th We had roast lamb which was lovely as I tested my new knife set and it worked a treat
Today will be our Boxing day so make do and mend and eat from left overs
I was given a soup maker for Christmas so may try that out later
Funnily enough most of my gifts were kitchen related ( do you think someone is trying to tell me something)
We really heard Storm Bellas wind last night though it might uproot some trees hoping today will be calmer
One of my cousins in Bedfordshire sent us video of flooding last night what an awful thing to happen at this time of year on top of everything else

I'm not sure if Storm Bella has been and gone during the night or if it's still making it's way down to us. Anyway, we are planning to do the Railway Walk today, along a pathway that was one of the Beeching cutbacks in the 1960s. When we've had enough we will just turn around and walk back home!
I shall make tomato soup for tonight, from a new recipe I found online, so I hope it comes out ok. Other than that I shall have my feet up watching the rugby on tv this afternoon.
Have a good day everyone.

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining in. Sending hugs to RR.
I have been reading various threads this morning with a view to having a more thrifty, sustainable, less wasteful 2021. I twisted my knee just before Xmas so am supposed to be resting. We had one of my favorite comfort food lunches today. Chips, beans gravy and bread and butter! I am feeling like we have been eating a lot of beige food though this past few days so I am going to cook a veggie curry (or two) for tea. Maybe one with cauliflower and spinach and one with mushrooms, peppers and courgette. There will be leftovers but leftovers are always good
I have just put some washing on and am now going to spend a bit of time meal planning for the coming days. I have a new cookbook to pour over which is always lovely. It is the How Not to Diet Cookbook by Dr Michael Gregor. First impressions are good.'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'10 -

Good evening everyone - just finished watching a Graham Norton with DD and the end of Sound of Music is on , so I'm watching that while reading back over the last few days. Had a quietish Christmas day - just myself, 2 DDs. little one and mam and dad. It was all a bit much for little one and she slept while we had lunch - she woke up happy though and spent the afternoon trying to walk with an inflatable Peppa Pig chair on her head - she seemed to think it was a hat!
DD and I went for a long walk down to our nearest beach yesterday afternoon - it was cold but nice to be out. Then we spent the afternoon eating and being lazy.
She was supposed to be going home to Stockholm tomorrow, but there's no flights until maybes the 31st. She has her work laptop with her so can work from home, so I have company for a bit longer, which is nice.
Well I'm going to wash up the tea dishes. DD is having a bath then we'll find something to watch on TV. Take care everyone
