How to exchange gifts bought in store but shops now closed in tier 4

I bought a hoodie in the Superdry store but need to exchange it for a bigger size. As of today, Cambridge is now in tier 4 so my local store is now closed.  Having chatted to their online help assistant, they tell me I have no other option but to do it in store. I can’t be the only one with this issue, surely?

Have they not extended their return policy to so many days after they open?

Most shops have extended their return times due to Covid.
  • They give you incorrect information. It’s all done online now:

That is for online orders. The OP bought in store

Do you have a Christmas Returns Policy?

Due to the recent lockdown, our returns period was extended which meant that if you made a purchase online between October 26th and December 6th 2020 you could return your order up until the end of January 2021.

I doubt we'll be still in a lockdown in anything but name past mid-January.

My expectation is the exact opposite.  No reason why my prediction should be any better than yours, or  vice-versa, unless you are Barny Nostradamus

Well depends what the opinions are based on e.g. science, hence the question.
logically I cannot see what would make the virus less transmissible, apart from warmer weather allowing more time outside and vaccinations, so I can’t see any logical reason for tiers to lower in the next few weeks unfortunately. hence I was interested in what factors could lead to such an opinion as I could think of none.
the oxford vaccine will be a brilliant thing but will take months to make a difference. Half a million is great (one dose only mind) but there’s a long way to go on that and half of future vaccinations will be second doses.
