Aer Lingus fee free changes

They are currently allowing fee free changes as many times as you like up to summer time in June 2021. The usual things apply like if the changed fare is cheaper you don't get a refund. My question that I've asked them but got no reply yet is if you change to a cheaper fare then change again to a more expensive fare but still cheaper than your original do you have to pay the difference? E.G. original fare £100, 1st change £50 (no refund) , 2nd change fare £75, do you to pay them £25 or because it's still less than the original fare is the nothing more to pay?

Anyone know about this?

Expect to pay the diffference. Otherwise cheap flights would be booked with no intention of ever being taken.

Must admit I don’t really understand what previous said but going on other scenarios if you book a new flight it is taken as a new booking and any other contracts are nullified? Going by that if the next flight is cancelled then you only get refunded what that flight cost.  Might be wrong of course but going by what people are saying I think it is highly unlikely you would get credit apportioned.
