    Some types of checks (e.g. govenment employment related) require a physical printed and posted statement to be provided. 

    A downloaded pdf statement, which is printed is not good enough, and if it's a pdf they want, it has to be a scan of that posted statement.

    I do almost all my banking (with two bricks and mortar banks) on apps, but still have paper statements for my main account sent twice a year.
