Ok so i called and spoke to somebody this morning. They think the claim wasn't finished off properly and the award is for 3 years. He is going to speak with the decision maker or whoever it was and get it finished properly and a new award letter sent out. He also said more review forms have been sent!
Sounds like they are crazy busy and mistakes are being made. Lets hope i get a new letter soon

Hmm odd! The reason why more forms have been sent is because of the short length of the award given. Did you ask for a decision maker to ring you back? If you didn't then you should request that. When you speak to them you need to mention that more forms have been sent, which is a completely pointless and needless task. The DM can cancel the review request. This is exactly what happened to my daughter and the review forms that were sent were canceled and i was told to ignore them when i received them.

the guy i spoke to today said he will get the forms request cancelled and told me to ignore them. i will definitely be calling back if i dont get another letter in a couple of weeks though as i have a motability car that i only picked up in November so if the award is for 3 years i need to know the date it ends as if i want a new car in 3 years you have to have 6 months still to run on your award which i wont have if its 3 years from this January. All very stressful :'(

That's not quite correct. To renew your lease with another motability vehicle then you need to have at least 12 months remaining on your mobility award. I can't post a link to confirm this because the motability website is currently unavailable.
If you don't have at least this amount of time remain on your award then you can ask motability to extend the lease of your current vehicle until your review takes place and a decision's made on that claim.

The website is working now and just thought i'd add the link. https://www.motability.co.uk/your-lease/car/getting-your-next-car/
You will need to have at least 12 months’ remaining on your qualifying allowance to order a new car. If you have less than 12 months remaining when it’s time to place a new application, or you would prefer to wait until you have confirmation of your new award, we will be able to extend your current lease
Orders for your next lease can be placed no earlier than 3 months before your current lease ends.

I have no idea why they said it's 6 months because its 12 months, whether it's your first car or taking out another lease. Please see the link i posted for confirmation.

yes i went on the link. I spoke to motability themselves (had to speak to them as something needed checking as my last car was taken back before the 3 years were up) so i know it was definitely 6 months. perhaps their website is out of date and they changed it for covid and the dwp delays?
Anyway, new review forms arrived today. bonkers.. i'll file them and call before the time is up to make sure the review has been cancelled

I've never known it be 6 months. Of course the person you spoke to may have also been wrong.

    New letter arrived today.
    Award until Jan 2025. 👍🏻
I will still call again in a week just to make sure the review wanting forms back by end feb has been cancelled. Last thing I need is them stopping my award because I didn’t send the forms back
