What is the course and qualification? Is the course for an accredited body and are they regulated? I am not sure of the rules around training courses themselves, but if they were teaching the wrong syllabus then the awarding body may well be happy to intervene.1

If it's financed then you have S75 protection. Prove your case to the finance co and then they are liable and give you your money back. You don't need to contact the course provider any more.1

Now this is interesting! As I contacted the company (finance) in the hope they could help push and they said no essentially- best they could do is nudge the company for a response. They've said this twice now (Tried again after reading this post)
are there any exceptions to when a finance company has to help? I paid the finance deposit with a credit card & payments- If i contact my bank/credit card provider can they help as it's a finance agreement with another provider- so they could claim the money back to my card but not stop the actual agreement/monthly payments?
0 response from the course provider despite my email breaking down the facts with evidence. Yesterday was their deadline- I’ve never had this before, would trading standards be the next step

Card provider will not be able to help if you paid the finance co with your card. As that will break debtor/creditor link to actual co.Beags20 said:If i contact my bank/credit card provider can they help as it's a finance agreement with another provider- so they could claim the money back to my card but not stop the actual agreement/monthly payments?

You will have to raise a complaint with the finance co. We take it they are a regulated finance co, and that the finance was not in house?Life in the slow lane0 -
Tried the finance company again (after reading these) same ridiculous response 'not much we can do' which i have in writing from them. Separate company/entity to the learning provider & regulated by the FCA but then there's a comment that says 'credit agreements that are interest free and less than twelve months term are unregulated' so thats a little more disheartening. I had to keep offering them the email chain from the learning provider they dont really seem interested- same response they gave me last time 'wait 3 days' i pointed out they told me that 8 days again- 'not much we can do'born_again said:

Does your finance agreement come under this?0 -

I can’t seem to make either party budge so I’m trying to figure out who to apply more pressure to. Right now I’m just pushing both despite both giving me minimal responses. Should I be readjusting my messaging to be more threatening?!From what I’m reading it sounds like trading standards for the training provider
Financial Ombudsmen for finance
Is going in for them both being efficient or possibly making it worse...
thanks once again you lovely MSE’ers this has just taken over my brain over the festive period- I’m trying to act fast as I read somewhere (think it was citizens advice) that they can be held to a full refund within 90 days so trying to keep up the momentum0 -
Trading standards dont help with things like this, your next step with the training provider would be to send a letter before action (Google for templates) then initiate court proceedings through MCOL.0
