    I don't understand your point. My 2-pole isolator does this - but for both the bathroom light and the fan.  A 3-pole one can do this for the fan only, without affecting the light (and its wiring will differ).

    Ah, I misunderstood that you had a two-pole to isolate only the extractor (independent of the light), as that was what I was talking about in my post to which you replied.

    This is basically how I do my wiring because the extractor always seems to require a SFCU:

    If the double pole pull switch is a high current isolator type for showers etc., they can be harder to operate.

    Another option is to use a 3-pole fan isolator with integrated fuse:

    Excel 3 Pole Fused Fan Isolator Switch - White

    They are only double pole.  @Grenage mentions a pull cord switch in the diagram above.
