Rent in advance UC

Hello,
Been helping someone the last few weeks, and my family member has now found a new place they are considering following various issues with current landlord.
However the condition of the rental company following checks is that the tenant pays the full tenancy of 12 months in advance.
For the purposes of this, will they still be entitled to the housing element of UC?
Thank you

Yes, the UC is based on rent liability so they would receive the housing element every month.sassy-one said:Hello,

Assuming this is a private rental, they will only be entitled to the appropriate LHA rate, which may not cover the whole monthly amount if they're needing to repay the 12-month amount at all (to anybody, or back into savings, for instance)
