Screw in lightbulb holders

Bit of a strange one I know, but I went into my local B&Q recently and 80% of their light bulbs were screw in and not the traditional bayonet type.
But something struck me as odd, which is I couldnt find one single screw in lightbulb holder, only the conversion holders, but the problem with the converters is that it makes the bulb and lampshade hang at least 2 inches further down or lower which isnt ideal if you are tall.
I was prepared to purchase some screw in holders and eventually convert the whole house to screw in bulbs as they seem to be the new trend, but the holders for them seem to be impossible to come by, or am I looking in the wrong place?

or CPC E27/ E14 lampholders. https://cpc.farnell.com/pro-elec/29-304-3512-00/lamp-holder-e27/dp/LA08397#Really depends on your fittings as to suitability.

It does seem odd that new lamps seem to be screw fittings but the holders are mostly bayonet still. Homebase do one - item no 401857 but there don't seem to be many others. Maybe a marketing opportunity...?0

ES are better because you don't end up rotating pieces of the light fitting that aren't meant to be rotated, which sometimes happens with BCs due to the amount of force you need to use.0
-
ES are worse because the soldered area at the top of the screw gets compressed as you screw it in, and successive switch off-on cycles cause a slight gap to develop, causing the light to flicker. Screwing it in harder tends to damage the light fitting itself. (Particularly true for R80 halogen bulbs!)

Hope this helps

Search E27 (aka ES, Edison Screw) Pendant or similar in order to find them. Relatively rare still in UK.1 -

Merry Christmas, well yes those would do but not as ideal as a proper holder. The convertors tend to extend the length of how low the light shade hangs down. But thanksMoneyMate said:1 -
Purchased some lamp shades from IKEA and they supplied E27 holders with them. I only want the shades andwill not be swapping all the fittings. Surprised they came with the holders and a decent length of wire as theshades were on sale for under £5 each.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

related and anyone with E27 holders this is a bargain.
I picked up a TCP pir LED reduced in Wilko and very happy with it for transient locations like a hall or loo.
Wanted some more and went looking but that particular brand is discontinued.
They did them in BC22 and E27
found that you can get the E27 for ~£1+P&P
