What Laptop?

I have a desktop at present but I am thinking of getting a laptop with better specs than my desktop which has a

Gigabyte h310m s2h motherboard
an Intel i3-8100 CPU @ 3.60GHz processor
8.00 GB RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 graphics card and a Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 250GB hard drive.
Budget £500 - £1000.

Any suggestions?

Depends on your budget but have a look at Dell UK website - Inspiron series
  • Dell have some good offers on their laptops, but I would avoid the Vostro and the Inspiron ranges.
On you budget I would recommend a mid to upper range Latitude. Or if you gind a good deal on one, an XPS.

Is there anything specific you use your laptop for?
A dream is not reality, but who's to say which is which?

What do you want from a laptop that you're not getting from your desktop?

So you're not after a big, gaming laptop as they're usually the ones that come with dedicated GPUs  but they're not exactly what you'd call portable?
  • The new MacBook Air is a powerful laptop now and just on budget.

Not sure a Dell XPS would be in his budget, especially anything new and with a 15" screen.

I suppose the obvious thing to say is in any case not to buy it now but to wait until after Christmas - Dell for example often have some pretty good deals in the 'new year sales'
