I can make a claim for £2000 with a court fee of £105. What might I have to pay if I lose my case?
Second query, could a Judge in addition to the court fee require a claimant to provide an independent expert report at the expense of the claimant?
Thanks for any help.

£105. Fast track small claims means the other side would not be awarded costs.enrie said:I can make a claim for £2000 with a court fee of £105. What might I have to pay if I lose my case?
No. However if your evidence does not support your claim then you will lose, it is up to you to prove your case, if that requires an independent expert then you need to pay for that yourself.enrie said:Second query, could a Judge in addition to the court fee require a claimant to provide an independent expert report at the expense of the claimant?1 -
In the Fast Track costs are limited, but the other side can still be awarded costs. Typically these would be loss of salary (or holiday leave) to attend a hearing, capped at £95 per day, plus travel costs/parking/mileage (as applicable) for the hearing. However, if the judge decides that the claim has been vexatious and the claimant has behaved unreasonably then extended costs can be awarded ... typically on the basis of the time the D has spent defending the claim, based on £19 per hour litigant in person rate plus stationery costs.MattMattMattUK said:
