Company no longer delivering

Hi
My husband bought a set of handlebars from a co.uk website but once he got confirmation of his order he realised it was being shipped from Germany. We have been informed that dpd is no longer delivering in Northern Ireland due to Brexit and that all delivery’s have been suspended. Were do we stand as we have been told his handlebars were dispatched.

Where is the retailer actually based? (a co.uk site doesn't necessarily mean much)
  • Who informed you DPD weren't delivering?  If that is the case then you will just need to wait a bit and ask for a refund in due course.
  • Dpd made an official statement to say they were pulling out of Northern Ireland

Then the seller will have to find someone else to deliver the goods to you, won't they?
  • If it’s due to be delivered by 23rd, it should be okay. I also only took it to be parcels coming from GB to NI rather than all parcels to NI, as they are still delivering parcels from NI to GB. Whether it ever gets out of Germany is another matter...

WHile DPD may not be delivering to NI, my understanding is that they will pass any goods in transit onto another carrier.

Actually, DPD's statement was they were temporarily suspending delivery from 23rd December from mainland UK to N.I.  I received a parcel delivered by DPD yesterday from the US which came via England.
