It's entirely up to you and the vendor to agree between yourselves as to who pays their fees.

Remember that they're charging for their dealings with your solicitor, though.

How much had you budgeted for the purchase of the management pack? This is an expected charge when buying a leasehold property.

No, the seller pays for this.

    Who said it's a leasehold?

When I sold my last house to downsize into a flat, the cost of the management pack was down to me as buyer as listed on my solicitor's statement. Cost nowhere near £620 though, I believe it was around £250.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
  • You need to check with your solicitor. This could be management fees paid in advance by your vendor. You will have to pay your share of these from when you take over the house. The solicitors work this out as part of the completion process.  The management pack costs are paid by the vendor, there's no way the management company could pass these on to someone who doesn't own a property. If your vendor is trying to pass these costs on to you, you shouldn't pay for this.
  • I’m selling my house. Management pack cost me £470  :/ but it was definitely my cost to bear, not my buyer.
