I help out on the Parking forum and quite often people will say they are registered disabled because they have a blue badge, but the regulars always politely point out that this country no longer has a register of disabled people, (and that the blue badge scheme does not apply on private land).
If members of the general public do not know there is no longer a register, then I am not surprised certain companies and organisations do not know about it either, but I am surprised an NHS employee didn't know.
