Hi
I've acquired a refurbished PC. I would like to connect it up to my laptop monitor so I can see if it is working ok. The picture is of the back of the PC. No leads came with it so I'm struggling a bit!

It will be the Green or Blue sockets in the middle. The round green and purple are PS2 for mouse and keyboard, then USB to the right along with network.1

Does your laptop even have any video inputs to be able to use it as a monitor?0

So what are the green and blue socket fittings called?0

The Blue one is VGA , the two ports to the left (rectangle with one corner cut off) are also used to connect monitors. They are Display port.
The green one above the VGA is a serial connection, not for a monitor.

Summary:- VGA or Display Port (guessing this is a Dell pc).
If your current laptop <-> monitor cable is HDMI then your best best is a Display port <-> HDMI adapter. e.g. www.amazon.co.uk/DisplayPort-JSAUX-Converter-Compatible-Graphics-Grey/dp/B085FYDWQX/0 -
That's lovely - thank you. I was slowly getting there with my questions :-)0

It would be very unusual for a laptop to have any input that would allow the built in screen to be used. The built in GPU will almost certainly have a dedicated connection to the screen.0
