CCJ Payment issues

I have received payment from a Small claims CCJ judgement and the defendant has insisted that I should infirm the court that payment has now been received. Am I legally abliged to confirm this to the court authority?

As to who informs the court - I don't know. If I was the defendant and I'd paid the judgment then I'd be sure as heck to make sure the court knew so that the judgment wasn't registered.
That said, why would you be reluctant to inform the court anyway? You won - no need to turn the screw further.1 -
According to the government web site, it's their job to send proof of payment to the court https://www.gov.uk/county-court-judgments-ccj-for-debt/ccjs-and-your-credit-rating
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
From that website:Ectophile said:According to the government web site, it's their job to send proof of payment to the court https://www.gov.uk/county-court-judgments-ccj-for-debt/ccjs-and-your-credit-ratingWrite to the court to say you’ve paid. You’ll need to send proof of payment from the person or business you owed money to.I wonder if that's what this thread is actually about? If yes then the OP needs to do their part.0
