Amazon Prime - Family Access

Hi

I have had a search for any posts relating to this but unable to find any specifically.

So, we have Amazon Prime and want to set up our child (teenager) with access to Amazon Prime ONLY.  We also have Netflix and this set up is fine, i.e. there is access/login for administration of the overall account and there are individual 'users' for viewing stuff.  I appreciate Amazon's offering is much wider than Netflix but, I am really struggling how to set up access for said child without running the risk of full account access or the ability to buy stuff using our CC, and / or the impact of their viewing history impacting on the other user(s).  If they were an adult you cannot add a family member without adding a credit card, and as a teenager I'm still a little lost how to configure things to work how ideally I would like them to.

Any help greatly appreciated.

What exactly do you mean by this? Give them access to Prime Video only? Or all aspects of Prime except shopping?

A quick search suggests what you're looking for is Amazon's Manage Your Household:

Thanks for responding but, I've been there.  Household is about sharing the 'benefits' of prime across adults (to have an adult account you must store a bank/credit card).  You can share with kids by invoking parental control but it talks in terms of Fire tablets / Kindle, etc.

Perhaps I'm just not seeing it, or perhaps it really isn't explained well or, perhaps it (what I'd prefer) isn't available but, I cannot see anything that helps me set it up appropriately.  I've tried installing the Amazon Prime app but it still requires the account holders login details (perhaps not unsurprisingly) but once in there you are the account holder, not another 'user', despite the availability of profiles..

Still not clear what you mean by wanting to "want to set up our child (teenager) with access to Amazon Prime ONLY".

Amazon Prime consists of lots of things, from free next day delivery to Prime video, audio etc. Do you want your teenager to have access to everything or just a subset?

In order to use Prime video if they sign in then they will then have full access to your account of course.

Not sure if this helps it seems to imply you can register a device but I have not used it.

Can't you just set up profiles and have your payments PIN protected.

Yes you can. Not sure how you enforce said teen only being able to access the configured account though without other accounts being visible and selectable.

I've looked in to enacting parental controls, such as the payment PIN etc but, it will all impact our usual usage, i.e. disable the one-click purchase etc, etc.  It is far from an acceptable solution let alone an ideal one.
