Second credit card dispute

Options
When Covid all kicked off I had tickets to attend SXSW festival in Texas (. £1400) It got cancelled . They refused to refund . I put in a dispute so Halifax gave me the money back . Then SXSW said if I realised the money back to them I could go in 2021 , fair enough let’s give it a chance . So Halifax released the money .
I managed to find the money for more flights as ba had not been helpful . Angled story .
It’s now been cancelled in 2021 and they have deferred it without asking me to 2022 . Things have changed a lot I’m not in work , I can’t find money for more flights .
Halifax have said that since it was raised the first time and resolved they won’t raise it again. Is this correct ? Are there any other options ? I need every penny I can get

The best course of action is to raise a complaint with Halifax and get their complaints team to look at it and see if they come back with the same answer

So to be clear. You started a chargeback, retailer contested it with Halifax & you agreed that you were happy for the rejection of the chargeback to go through.
I can't see anyway you can process another chargeback, as it is on the same original purchase. Not the rejection of the chargeback. Only get one chance on a chargeback.

I think that you are now pretty much stuck as I could see a S75 claim being rejected as you agreed to the retailer rejection of the chargeback.

  • Yes that’s pretty much it , I  agreed to the money to go back to SXSW based on the conditions they offered however the goalposts have been moved again
  • It is my understanding you can only challenge a transaction once.
You still have either a refund or credit note to pay for the flights.

Sadly you will have to go by what SXSW are prepared to offer now.
