I have a old CC from Vanquis, which I no longer use and has nothing owed on it. I am looking next year to getting a mortgage so would it be better to close the account down or keep it with a zero balance on it?

As always, it depends. If you have several others that are kept live, you could lose it, otherwise keep it. It'll do no harm.0

I agree with zx81 - perhaps put a few transactions through it (to make sure it remains live) but remember to pay in full to avoid paying interest. This will show that you are able to manage your available credit.0
