Sonos Home Entertainment - Is it Worth it?

I only got interested because I built a home cinema system. All the best Blu-ray movies seemed to have DTS-HD sound. I was reading one day that Sonos can't play DTS. They encourage you to put together an incredibly expensive system of speakers but they were incapable of playing a very widely used format. Seemed very poor.0

I get the impression that historically they came from 2-channel audio, rather than multi-channel, and that they have been trying to overcome those limitations. Their more recent products are more capable (IIRC can handle more bit depth than previously) but that caused a backlash because in the process they tried to make the previous (S1) generation obsolete. I only currently have a small number of units from the older (S1) generation, so I'm not the best person to comment on their latest capabilities.Bluesound and AudioPro seem to be ahead of them in that respect - possibly because they entered the market later. However, I suspect that Sonos' current home theatre products (such as the ARC range) probably do support DTS, Dolby Atmos and a whole load of other formats. I doubt they would sell many if they couldn't tick those boxes.0

No the ARC range does not support DTS. It seems a lot of Sonos buyers don't adequately research their purchases and only discover the problem after purchase.0
