When I was younger, I saved all my pocket money for weeks to buy my sister a gift set from Boots. It was one of those where you get a gift voucher and some other bits. And then when my sister opened it, she really loved it. My mum thought I was happy about one of my presents, but really I was just happy at seeing her happy.Proud to be dealing with my debts

Two best pressies I received, both when I was 17, living on my own and absolutely skint.
I got home one day and my parents had been in. On my kitchen worktop was lots of foodie treats that I just couldn't afford myself, like earl grey tea, shortbread, and my favourite bottle of Radox Herbal bath which I could never justify.
Then when I started to knock a tennis ball around with my now hubby, I couldn't afford a proper tennis racquet and had one of those really old fashioned wooden ones from a charity shop. I came home one day and on the table was a brand new raquet, in a case, with little paper arms and legs and a paper speech bubble with "I love you" on it.
Makes me all tearful thinking about it!

the best present I had as a child was a chatty cathy doll. I had to save my pocket money all year to pay half, it cost £10 but I really wanted it. Also a train set when I was 5. In the last year my OH has bought me really thoughtfull presents of thigs I wanted but would never buy myself (too mean) A new printer, a garden recliner and for xmas he has bought me a digital camera.
Best recieved presents I have bought were a video camera for the OH 16 years ago when they were really really expensive. And last year the beauty hamper I made my DD mostly free stuff.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

The best present I've ever received was from my son. He did a paper round when he was 13 and spent all Chritmas eve looking for a gift for me. I could have cried when I opened it, it was a beautiful set of tiny glass Poppies. He new they were my favourite flower and that I like glass so he spent all day looking for them. I just hope he is as thoughtful with his fiance. When you get to the end of your tether....
Tie a knot in it and hang on!0
