To share or not to share your buildings survey with estate agent?

Hi everyone, I've read, and received verbally, some conflicting advice on sharing your buildings survey with the estate agent. I didn't really see a problem with it because I wanted to ask for some money off to address an urgent repair (replacing chimney flashings), and thought it was sensible to send the survey to back up my request. I have read however that you might not want to share the full report as if the surveyor says the price is in line with the market the seller may refuse to re-negotiate...but my thinking is that the seller could always refuse to re-negotiate anyway so whats the big deal? I'm most likely missing something obvious, so if someone could point it out to me please let me know.

Replacing chimney flashings is a small job and wouldn't cost that much. I would just budget it in to the money you have put aside for repairs after you have moved. Exactly how much did you want to take off your offer? Doesn't seem like a re-negotiation repair to me.

So we wanted to ask for 2,300 off as the other repairs mentioned were:
    Overhauling the chimney stack
    Rebed ridge tiles
    Improving the roof ventilation
If we are getting a roofer in to do the flashings then it just made sense to me to try do these other tasks as well. I have spoken with a local roofing company and their conservative estimate for these jobs was between 2-3k (but they of course explained it was very difficult to estimate without seeing the issues - which is fair enough). I didn't feel like asking for 2,300 was an unreasonable amount to ask off. We would also be happy if the vendor could undertake the repairs before we move. sgun said:

Do you think we are being unreasonable?

Those sound like improvements rather than essential (and surprising) repairs. So yes, on balance probably unreasonable.

Rain water is leaking in and down the chimney because of the faulty flashings. I think that requires attention now rather than in the future.
