The Nissan-Renault alliance owns 100% of AvtoVAZ, yes. And 80% of Renault-Samsung. I was ignoring them since they don't come anywhere near the UK.

But Dacia and Infiniti aren't different companies. Dacia is a brand of Renault, Infiniti is a brand of Nissan. Don't forget Alpine and Datsun if you're simply counting brands.

Although, if you're counting different brands, then consider Stellantis... 14 brands, 9 of them sold in the UK. Just one company, though. Or, at least, will be soon instead of the current two - PSA and FCA.

Alright, I exaggerate, however my point was, for a company that people who have had their fingers burned wouldn't touch with someone else's bargepole, they seem to be doing remarkably well....

One out of every nine vehicles built worldwide...
Third biggest, behind Toyota and VAG.

    >> no help could be given due to him having failed to have the car regularly serviced at a Ford garage.

Yep - if your son doesn't show any goodwill towards them, why should they show any towards him?

If he has any legal rights, it is against the dealer he bought the car from.

I note that you go into all sorts of details about the road he was driving on, but don't say what the current mileage is, or whether the car has been serviced in line with Ford's schedule.
