Suggestions for a new door please

Thanks for the vote of confidence, guys.
The alternatives which have been suggested seem to be:
a) Dig a drain, which I am not able/going to do.
b) Make what effectively amounts to a dam, which will create a small pond up to a couple of inches deep outside the door. Tht will slowly evaporate, but any more water will go into the garage, anyway.
c) The one I have thought up.
The side door is right next to the main door, so, the water will only wet a very small part of the floor. That's what is happening at the moment, but because of the threshold strip, the water has pooled some of the time and rotted the door.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1 -
Fair do's, GDB.What a poor design by the archi!Does it drain away when it reaches a certain height - is there a max height the water ever reaches? If so, you could consider a brick threshold to above this height as said before, but coupled with a raised grill fitted over the step outside, high enough to keep your feet dry!1

My preference would be to spend a day digging out a trench, fill with shingle to form a soakaway and install a french drain grill in front of the threshold.
