You could also look at PAT earth bond leads -- they look very similar to the insulation test one

  • You probably already know that leads for use at 1000v testing should be specced for that potential and most of those linked to do not such as the doc leads rated at 15A are not insulation test leads and (on the face of it) are not suitable, likewise the earthing leads! i.e. you cannot guarantee safety or that the leads themselves will not give low insulation readings.
  • I'll wait until the new year and try looking through our stores. I seem to recall new lead sets for Megger installation testers being bought for the guys and they sealed over their old leads. If I can find the old leads I suspect I may find what I need there

This isn't for commercial testing else I would simply charge out 3 new sets.
  • Update: I had to place a CPC order and added to it the test lead from Mysers link. Arrived today and on first look it appears ok. CE marked, 15A and rated to 1000V  Cat 11.  I'll connect it up tonight and see what results I get with off scale and low IR tests.

    Thanks all.

    Merry Christmas/

Multi Contact (Stäubli) is a reputable brand, should be fine.

I'm sure it will be and the guys using it will be under supervision so fingers crossed.

    Cheers, have a virtual pint.
