do you think £3600 is expensive for replacement windows for 1 bedroom window and bay window which is of 3 casements?

Yes. Well over the top.Had a bay and a few other windows replaced last year. From memory, the bay+one large window was just under £2K, but it included fitting of a lintel which bumped the price up.Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.1 -
Definititely, I had 5 large windows, all with A rated glass for less than that a couple of years ago!The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.1 -

Thirded. We had a bay window replaced around 3 years ago - 2m wide, two fixed side casements and a 2-casement central section with 2 openers, Georgian beads - and a large bedroom window 1.8m wide x ditto high with 2 casements and 2 openers - and the total cost was around £1700. And they did an excellent job. And they cleared out rubble they found in the cavity and stopped a damp patch :-)I contacted three local companies in all (all with good reputations) and one 'National just for fun. All three 'locals' were virtually identically priced, and I chose the one who showed a genuine interest in arriving at the best style and layout as I wasn't sure what would look best. One made very good suggestions and was at pains to ensure I was happy, and the other 2 were more "What is it you want?".The 'National' was over 3 times as much, and a king-sized pita.1

Very expensive! I’ve had 9 large windows replaced for £3800. Agree though, find a local company (Local Facebook pages are good for recommendations) and get a couple of quotes.1

The eye-watering quote would have ultimately come down to £5k. But by then you'd have lost the will to live... :-)

With bay windows a lot depends on what type of bay you've got - if you've got one (like ours) with a little 'roof' on top of it then the windows have to all be reinforced to support it. We got quotes (all small independents) ranging from £4k to £12k to replace ours (the average was £5k to £6k). :-(
