Can I apply for a card if already a named card holder?

The wife has a Sainsburys Credit card and I also have one as she applied for a second card holder, is there anything to stop me from applying for my own Sainsburys Credit Card, would I already count as a customer? Thinking for a balance transfer from another card to the Sainsburys 0% offer.

No, you would be a new customer.

Just started the application and one of the exclusions says:

To be eligible you must:
Not have a current Sainsbury's Bank credit card.

Technically I do, but only as my wife got it for me.

You are but a additional credit card holder, which is not a account holder.

I would apply. Far better to have your own card, than being a additional card holder.

I agree you are not their customer your wife is. If anything happened to your 'card' say fraud or a disputed transaction your wife would have to report it not you.
Is there any special reason why you want a Sainsburys card? Look at the top of the thread for the article on best cards available first - just in case.

Is that with Sainsburys or someone else?
You can't pay off one Sainsburys card with another if that is what you want to do.
