PIP Tribunal Won

My daughter won her tribunal around a month ago and was awarded the enhanced daily care Allowance and the standard mobility for 10 years.
The question I have is that she currently claims Job Seekers Allowance, and she lives at home with both parents, which do not claim carers allowance and don’t intend to. She is 25. What next? What other benefit is she entitled to and what do I have to think about making sure she claims?

Great news. It will depend on which JSA she's claiming. If it's income Related then she'll be entitled to 2 disability premiums. One is £34.95 per week and the other is £17.10 per week and these should be automatically added to her JSA, once her PIP award is in payment. She won't be entitled to the severe disability premium unless both parents are either claiming PIP daily living/DLA mid/high rate care or are registered blind. If it's New style JSA she's claiming then the disability premiums are not payable on this this.If she's unable to continue to look for work because of her health condition then she will need to claim Universal Credit with a fit note from her GP, which will start the work capability assessment process off. Although the disability premiums are not payable on UC.

Thanks for the swift reply - I’m not sure which JSA but I suspect it’s the new one as she was on UC a couple of years ago then they switched her back to JSA - it’s such a minefield - we are very unfamiliar with the system. I will check
thanks again0 -
@poppy12345 one last thing - if she is entitled to the disability premiums would she get back pay for that as well?0

thanks againIf she was claiming UC a couple of years ago then they wouldn't have switched her back to Income Related JSA because once you claim this you can never go back to the old JSA because UC has replaced all the old benefits.New style JSA is based on your NI Contributions from working in the 2 years prior to your claim and is only paid for 6 months. How long has she been claiming it?If it's the old Income Related JSA then the disability premiums will be backdated to the start of her PIP award, which will automatically be paid and added to her fortnightly payments. If you're unsure what she's claiming exactly then i'd advise you to find out and then come back here because it's extremely difficult to advise without knowing all the details and exatcly what benefits she's claiming.0 -
Thanks Poppy I think she was on a pilot for universal credit when it first came out in Wales, and then they stopped the UC where she claimed and put her back on JSA - due to her disability she just went along with it so no idea why.
She has never been in permanent employment only worked in Tesco for 6 weeks over a Christmas period once.0
