O/S Daily Wednesday 16 December 2020
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still dark and mild.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was egg, bacon, sausage, hash brown/fried mash potato, beans and mushrooms. Tonight I'm not sure what we'll be having - I may make a lasagna as I have an early finish today.
Work still not great - still don't really know anything/very much.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, it's not fair they are keeping you waiting for news, hope you hear soon.
It's raining hard this morning, gone is the sunshine from yesterday. Hopefully the roads will be fine, there's so much water about at the moment.
I had a lovely day off, went for a little wander which was quite nice as I didn't need anything, had a wonderful lunch then we took Sophie to a garden centre that was full of Christmas sparkle. Although she's too young to understand Christmas she loved the twinkly lights and little Santas.
Back to the grind today although I have an eye appt first thing, it feels like I have a grain of sand stuck in my eye all the time. I'm due an eye test anyway so hopefully it can all be sorted out.
Hope your appt went well yesterday RR and the poorly Mums are comfortable and recovering.
Have a happy Wednesday, take care. XX15 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Hope there is some positive news for you soon. After a couple of days with some blue sky and sunshine the rain is due back today. Not heavy but it's still rain!
Still being clobbered with silly o'clock waking and I'm fed up of them. My DF in Oz told me she has started drinking Oat Straw Tea and swears blind she is sleeping better because of it. A Google search has brought up a lot of good reports on its benefits so that may be yet another thing to try. Watch this space on that but suffice to say I have a cupboard full of recommendations that didn't work!!
I am popping into town this morning as there are odd bits I need. I didn't book a grocery delivery for last w/e and my next isn't due until Sunday so there are one or two things I will need before then. And I need to stop off at the pharmacy up here for one item of my meds on my way back.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Hope the poorly mums are doing ok, DUMPLING is resting those legs and RUBY taking things easy. Take care one and all and stay safe x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"16 -
God rest ye merry gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember Christ our Saviour
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Satan's power
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joyMorningThe shopping is coming this morning, I'll wait for that then take Scamp out. We have rain forecast for most of the day, he used to be scared of the lightest shower and it took ages for him to learn that it wouldn't hurt him. So I don't mind going out in it, unless it's really heavy.
I'll clean the fridge out while I'm waiting for more food to arrive. Mr tru has quite the collection of weird and wonderful sauces again, I'll have to have words about that! It's annoying when normal food has to be put in there and I'm wondering where the hell I'm supposed to put the cheese.
I'll just be flitting about this afternoon, tidying as I go. I need to change the chicken's nesting boxes, I'll do that later as it's getting dark. I prefer to do it as they're going to bed because they're calmer then - one gets annoyed if I change anything and she yells at me loudly, the others try to 'help' me, lol.

Good morning, thanks NMLC for starting.I had a good nights' sleep, because of the rubbish night I had on Monday, so I feel quite spry. You have my sympathy TA, I know what it's like, tell us if you try this oat straw tea, and if it works. We've got Dgs today, his sister has a hospital appt, so he'll come here. Just as well I've had a good rest last night, he's lively.Called at Metrocentre yesterday on the way home from my hospital appt, it was busy but not like it would have been in normal times.M&S was busy though, particularly the food hall, and I didn't get what I wanted in the way of sweets, so just went on to Holla*d and Bar*ret where I found that the turmeric capsules that I wanted were half price then I got another £5 off from rewards on my H*B card, so that was good.Came home and just did what Dgd calls "stuff".Hoping that the Mums are progressing well, Ruby, thinking of you, hope you're ok.Have a good Wednesday all, and take care.17

Thanks for the thread nmlc and hugs to all those in need.
Tru, thanks for the carol. Beano isn't afraid of the rain but he hates getting wet, he even walks around puddles.
Another day here of dealing with tears, tantrums, conspiracy theories and all the other carp living with a stroke survivor brings.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.15 -

Dull amd overcast here and rain due later I am on the sofa under my blankie and all is wellHosp went well yesterday and I am continuing to heal albeit very slowly I have been told to keep doing what I am doing and I have another load of antibiotics, unfortunatly it seems to be these making me sick but he said its important to keep taking them so that I heal.
OH and dd are both out at work today so I shall have a nice peaceful day I do need to shower and I still have a few presents to wrap.
Nels I was very good while out shopping I just walked around with the list and OH put everything in the trolly and did the packing and unpaking I did sleep for two hours when I got back though so I think it did wear me out, I was very Careful I promise xx
Also Nels Happy Birthday to youI know its been a very hard year for you and lets hope next year is a better one, I could not have had a better friend this year you have been a huge support to me and I will always be grateful to you, I hope your day is full of lovely things and love, much love to you xxx
Have good days all xx16 -
Morning folks - it's still dark here, doesn't help get rid of feelings of sloth! Thanks for the tune Tru.Scarlet - your post sent my mind whizzing back to past times. I can still 'see' the queues on the A69 to get into the M&S car park. I used to park next to the multi-storey one and walk across.Bella - such a shame for your DM, my thoughts are with her. 🤗My DM is much better, the pain has lessened a great deal. She's done her required early morning sample which I'll take to the surgery shortly. Despite her hardly drinking anything it looks clear, surprisingly. She's never been one to drink anything like the recommended amount, even with her hear condition. Can't be told!Camelot sent me an adorable photo of her DGD standing next to a mini Santa, it made my heart leap with joy and fair cheered up this miserable Grinch.Right, I have two little parcels to post off, meds to collect and washing to fold up.Happy Wednesday to all.14
