Hi,
I've got a hard search showing on my Equifax credit record, which is listed as an enquiry with an entry code P48 and says:
Does anyone have any ideas?
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks!

Searched by THE GOVERNOR AND COMPANY OF THE BAN on 18/07/2020
I didn't apply for any credit then as far as I can recall, and I'm very confused with it being an enquiry rather than a quote of any kind. And it apparently being by The Bank of England (I assume?!). I did purchase some shares in my company in June/July - I wasn't aware that that would cause a hard search if that's the case... but I have no idea if it's even that!Does anyone have any ideas?
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks!

Ask Equifax in the first instance?0

It might be the Bank Of Ireland, which provides a lot of the Post Office branded loans, credit cards etc. Have you got (or have you applied for) any Post Office branded products? Or maybe something like insurance from the Post Office that you're paying in instalments?

Thanks - I have but given they can take 28 days to reply I thought it worth asking if anyone had a similar experience on here...jonesMUFCforever said:Ask Equifax in the first instance?0 -
Thanks - I'm certain I haven't applied for anything from the Post Office, but good to know it could have been that. You have prompted me to check my car tax which I'm paying by direct debit which has a small surcharge so wondered if that was it. I applied for my car tax on 25th July so timings are off slightly for what's on my credit record, but maybe it's that?!Ebe_Scrooge said:It might be the Bank Of Ireland, which provides a lot of the Post Office branded loans, credit cards etc. Have you got (or have you applied for) any Post Office branded products? Definitely The Bank of Ireland. We had this a while back when we borrowed some money for renovations.0
