Santander aren't connected to NatWest, if that's what you're asking.1

Nationwide are known to be insolvency friendly.
As Sourcrates is much more knowledgeable in this area than I am, I can assume that Co-op are in the same position. Be warned with Co-op though that they can be very difficult when applying for other products afterwards.💙💛 💔0 -
I was with Barclays and no debt to them, but I did owe £300 on my Barclaycard, they were fine with me keeping the account but I closed it anyway.
Santander, I have a current account with them, no overdraft or anything, they were fine with the DRO, Nationwide were fine, I opened the account just before the DRO but told them and it wasn't an issue
Co-op were fine about DRO but I decided against opening an account with them2 -
I entered into an IVA in February 2014. My bank at that time was Natwest, and had been for about 15 years. Natwest closed my current account (unreasonably I thought, since none of my debts were with Natwest) so I opened a basic account with the Co-op. My IVA completed in February 2020, and in October I approached Co-op to see if they would upgrade my Basic account to a full Rewards account. They agreed to do so, the only problem being that they said the couldn't (wouldn't?) transfer my credits/payments/etc and that I would have to do that manually - which I have done.My Basic account with them remains open - I plan to let it remain for a year in case there are any odd annual payments that I have forgotten to transfer to the new account. Overall I have been very satisfied with the Co-op and plan to apply to them for a VISA card in the New Year.0

Confirms what we belive - Nat West are unfriendly to insolvency (probably the most so), Co-Op are friendly0

NatWest have closed mine as of yesterday they said they had been informed of my insolvency and therefore closed account. I knew they probably would I’ve actually managed to get a basic bank account with Santander did it all online and very straight forward.0
