If you are using an online password manager for the important sites like those dealing with financial data, for safety you should be "salting" those particular passwords:-

Bitwarden. I've tried them all and have settled on Bitwarden. It's free and integrates with iOS, Android, Mac, PC, Chromebook and Linux. If you are technically able you can even host it yourself on your own NAS or server, as I do.1

As I have a spreadsheet pwd file and the numerics of my pwds therein are coded by a simple math calc (in the head) I think I'm secure for now. Will follow the idea of the NAS but wonder if my Macbook OSX backup drive could serve in some way.

That's what my parents used to do until my sister stole the book and siphoned over AUD50k out of various accounts... police and lawyers have ensued. I'd highly recommend any of the digital password managers suggested in the thread if you can't memorise them. I personally use LastPass, but all the major players do mostly the same thing.born_again said:Can't beat a good old diary & pen. \

I use Keepass but whatever you use, don't forget to keep a backup copy of your password database.0
