Expired gift vouchers

Looking for advice if possible. Late Nov/early Dec 2029, my son was gifted a generous amount of Ticketmaster vouchers. At that time there was nothing he wanted to use them for . A few months later, we went into the first lockdown period. Obviously there were no new gigs being announced but many retailers (and I am 99% sure that I heard Ticketmaster mentioned ) said that they would honour the vouchers for an additional  period in line with the lockdown. Last night an attempt was made to use the vouchers but we received a message saying that they had expired. He is aware that there is an expiry date and would normally make every effort to use them within the time but, believed  that the valid dates  were being extended. (We would be well within that period.)
Can anyone advise where we would check this out? I tried calling Ticketmaster but received a recorded message asking for information that we did not have or that was irrelevant  for a voucher. Also tried checking the website/facebook page  but  no joy. Has anyone had vouchers Ticketmaster vouchers  honoured after the  lockdown extension.
 Any advice appreciated.

Has he tried contacting them on social media?  Some companies seem to respond more readily on that medium nowadays.

Their website says this:

Can I extend my Gift Card once it expires?

Normally, unfortunately we can't extend a gift card once it expires – it's valid for 12 months, but if you haven't used it by that time we can't extend the card's life. Please remember to check when your card was bought so you don't lose out.

However, under the current circumstances, we’re happy to look into reissuing your gift card valid for this year if you’re unable to use it. Please contact us a few weeks before your gift card is due to expire.

That final sentence might be your son's undoing.  He is relying on their goodwill.
