Some solicitors will state their fees on their websites, others you will need to contact and get quotes. Perhaps start with a few local firms and a few online firms to get a general idea.
Solicitors fees are quoted usually for their work, but you should take note of the disbursements, which are fees that need to be paid by the solicitor for third parties, i.e. Land Registry documents and registration, bank charges, help to complete the stamp duty land tax form, issuing notices and any other additional work not covered by the initial fee, plus don't forget VAT.0 -
There are price comparison sites for fees which appear to have rocketed, doubled in the past 2 years. Brace yourself0

Purchasing a leasehold property such as a flat will be more costly than a freeehold house.0

Email solicitors with an area / county, approximate purchase price or between X and Y, whether you are buying with a mortgage and what percentage your deposit is, say I'd you are using a help to buy ISA or a LISA, say what type of property and ask them for a quote with a full breakdown of what everything is.
Then see what prices you get.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
you have to call the solicitors and get quotes. i find they are around £1,200 to £1,8001

The only way to get an accurate quote to request one. Solicitors will give a fixed fee (based on house price and freehold/leasehold) but this will just be for the basics.
All the following (a small excerpt of a very long list given to me by my solicitors) could increase on your fee. Make sure to give a comprehensive description of your purchase when you request a quote and check if the quote includes searches.
- HTB ISA
- LISA
- Gifted Deposit
- Shared Ownership
- Probate
- New Build
- Tenanted Property0 -
Thanks.
How to get a list of solicitor contact information.
Basically search around the area I am living.
Sales agent only provide one contact but i think quite pricy and cannot make any comparison.0 -
I paid c.£900, found on one of the comparison sites. That was for the world's simplest transaction: FTB buying a freehold house from a non chain vendor.
Propose using a comparison site for budgeting, and then contact a couple of local ones additionally before going with one on the basis of reviews and cost.0 -
just google solicitors around your area and read the reviews left on them. go to their website and see if they offer conveyancing and then call them. don't use the solicitors recommended by the estate agent.alandaniel132 said:Thanks.
