BOOST ENERGY - keeping us hostage
Options
can anyone give advice , being held hostage by this supplier. we cant get through via phone, email , twitter or facebook.
No call Backs. we have tried to switch and they have blocked it saying we have a debt despite being apparently on a prepaid meter account.
they dont know what they're doing, you cant get through to them.
People are being cut off , with vulnerable children in their homes.
PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP ?
just check their Twitter feed to see many stuck in the same situation.
we are desperate , and severely stressed.

You can have a debt on a pre-payment meter because the daily charge will always be nibbling away at the available credit. If you don't top it up then you'll go into debt, even if you don't use any energy. If you look at the meter it will probably tell you how much debt you owe and how much per week it's claiming back.Boost prepayment meter codes0

OK thats fair enough , that could explain the debt, but what i don't understand is why wont they let us switch on the premise that they need to "load the debt onto the meter". , and when we managed to get them to tell us the debt amount , is was something like 11p
11p.0 -
Are you sure your debt is for 11p? Normally as a general rule if you owe less than £500 you can still switch. Something else is going on here, and not just the 11p.When was the last time you topped up? IIRC a lot of "loading" occurs when you top up your credit on the meter, which would also reprogramme it for debt recovery purposes (if needed). If you haven't fed it the key for months on end for whatever reason, that may be why it hasn't "loaded", whatever that means. But yes you need to look at your meter, follow the link in the first post and it'll tell you how big the debt is. Would be very surprised if you can't switch just for 11p.0
