Barclays taking ages to issue new mortgage offer

I got a mortgage offer from Barclays back in September and realised about a month later that one of the details was incorrect (the purchase price was down as £175k instead of £176k). This doesn't affect the actual borrow amount because we will be putting in the extra £1000 ourselves, and we were told it would take a couple of days to change the details and resend the amended offer. Well it's now December and we are STILL waiting. We have contacted Barclays about 10 times asking for updates and have been told different things - it's just waiting to be sent out, it will be with us in 3 days time, it's been escalated to be sent out, and most recently that there is an IT error stopping it from being amended.
We have been ready with contracts and everything else since the start of November and really expected to have exchanged by now. It's just this last ridiculous piece of paper that we are waiting for! Has anyone had a similar issue with Barclays recently and do you think I should put in an official complaint to give them a kick up the a*se or just wait?
Any help (or sympathy) appreciated!
