Equifax - not showing voters roll after 8 years

Options
I've been on the voters roll for 8 years at my address and Equifax dont show it. Every other agency do. I got a letter from the council but they still wont update my file. They keep saying it will update in time. Well the last discussion was a year ago. Help. What do I do? Is this a data protection issue? As in, having incorrect info about me?

No, as the data isn't there, rather than being incorrect.

What was the last discussion and when did the council provide evidence to Equifax?
  • The Data Protection Act states that data must be "Adequate" and "Accurate"

For Equifax to tell any interested party that you aren't registered to vote, when you are, is inaccurate, and inadequate.

If you have sent them evidence to confirm you're registered to vote at the address they have on file for you and they still haven't update their records, escalate the issue to the Information Comissioners Office.
