CCJ Set aside advice!

Hi I have read through the newbies section but I am after some more specific advice and what happens after I have submitted my N244.
Background:
I just found out about a CCJ against me from June 2018 for a parking offence in August 2017 after trying to obtain my first mortgage.
I have never received anything from the parking enforcement as it was sent to the wrong address.( I must not have updated DVLA promptly enough) and I haven't contacted them yet (I cant via their website as I need a PCN number, which I don't have. I have obtained an old council tax bill to prove I had moved.
I wasn't illegally parked, although I am not sure how to prove that. (The fine was from a hotel I briefly visited for a conference. I didn't pay for anything so I have no receipts)
My aim is to get the CCJ removed from my record. If I put all this in my N244 will it be enough to ensure a set aside and what is the enforcements likely next step?

I feel this entire process is hugely flawed. Especially for someone like me who would just pay the extortionate fine just to clear a credit score!

Any help will be massively appreciated !!

Have you updated your address at all, as far as the V5C logbook is concerned?   Sending off your driving licence doesn't cut it...

If you pay the CCJ off, you do know you would not clear it off your credit score and it would stay there for 6 years if you do that?

Just copy the two example CCJ set aside threads in the NEWBIES thread and read lots of posts by @henrik777

Which PPC? CEL or ParkingEye by any chance?

You know you should email them first -urgently - to see if they will agree to set aside with consent (and NO THAT DOES NOT MEAN PAYING THEM, EVEN IF THEY TELL YOU IT DOES).

You do know to (of course) complain - urgently and not by phone - to the Hotel to see if they will step in and encourage the scammer to agree to yiour set aside and cancel the PCN?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

None of the incident etc has anything to do with the set aside , you should have learned that by now by reading the newbies FAQ sticky thread plus other set aside threads

A set aside is usually granted due to incorrect service of papers , usually caused by changing your address or residence

If you are granted a set aside the original court claim is back in play

Paying the CCJ won't clear your credit score if more than a month has passed !!

You don't just submit the n244

    - witness statement
    - exhibits supporting ws
    - draft order
    - draft defence

    all needed

It was a company called Civil Enforcement Ltd. It was that long ago I don't even own the vehicle anymore! I also believe that the hotel now uses a different parking company.

    You believe??

Get complaining to the hotel now. Tell them that unless they fix this they have seen the last of you as a customer.

  • CEL is Civ Enf Ltd
Have you done thta CEL email yet? You were told to do so. Ask about set aside by consent

Sorry, what email? I'm sure I read on the newbies part that I shouldn't contact them directly?

I don't think they would miss me! I never even stayed there. I just visited for less than 2 hours to a conference.

First it was "I believe", now it is "I don't think".

One thing is certain, if you don't contact them they will not even know there is a problem and they won't be helping you.
  • OP - you were given an instruction to email them
"You know you should email them first -urgently - to see if they will agree to set aside with consent (and NO THAT DOES NOT MEAN PAYING THEM, EVEN IF THEY TELL YOU IT DOES)."
You even quoted that in one of your posts above
