Economy 7 Metre 2 rates going up at same time

Hi i have taken pictures of both my day and night readings on my eco 7 metre at 2:30pm then again at 5:20pm. both readings had risen. surely the night rate should not have gone up if it was only the evening? who do i contact about this as we only have a small bedroom house and i was billed £200 this month electric only!. can anyone help please.

are you sure you are E7 and not a Comfort Plus meter, that gets a boost during the day, but still on cheaper rate?

Can you post the pictures here please?

There are several ways for this to be possible, for example, if you have a time-clock triggering the change between night and day and the clock is set to the wrong time, but the key point is that only one of them should be increasing at a time.

Generally there is an indicator showing which rate is active, that may show in your photos or you may have to look at the meter carefully, knowing which meter it is and if it uses a clock or not would help...

It's possible you've either got an economy 10 (or similar) meter or you've read the total and day rate rather than the night rate.
