Expensive Birds proofing not effective!
Options
Have been having a hard time with nextdoor racing pigeons. The amount of poos on windows are disgusting and a health hazard. I have contacted pest control and spent £375 to use bird free optical gel and hedgehog brush in gutters. Was really upset to find poos again on windows sills and patio.after spending that much money. I contacted pest control and have not heard anything yet but will chase them. He has put approx 50 bird free optical gel on the roofand two men spent two hrs to do the work. I can see the pigeons but they are not on mine roof. But why am I seeing birds poos on windows sill and patio but not veryday.! Last time poos free for 7 days. I am really puzzled who could be the culprits. Racing pigeons or wood pigeons but have seen any on the roof. I am checking my windows sills every night before I go to bed as I assume it is being done early am. This is doing my head if pest control does not know the answer, who can. Could be passing birds buy why mine windows! Anybody trying to solve or a suggestion? Thanks

Hiya cherry. Is the poo on your window panes (as in a bird did it in flight) or just on the sills (suggests they are perching there)?
Might not be helpful in this case but I think you can get bird silhouettes that you can stick on the glass to deter birds coming near your windows. Might be worth a Google.Just my opinion, no offence 🐈0 -

I think cat silhouettes might be more effective. You can get them with reflective eyes
Another idea is a silhouette of a hawk? I can remember seeing hawks being flown at a port to keep seagulls? away from cruise ships

There is a pub near me which used to employ a chap who brought a sparrow hawk round once a month or so. It was very effective for them, the local feral pigeons moved to other buildings nearby and gave the pub a consistently wide berth. You might consider looking locally for the same sort of service which really does seem to be worth the ongoing outlay.
The only other thing I've found that works against pigeons is to use the long spikes that prevent them settling to perch but I imagine that you wouldn't care for having windowsills covered in those.1 -
What a great idea, employ a bloke with sparrow hawk to kill off next doors racing pigeons.
I'm sure that wont cause any upset at all...........

Just an update pest control man came to see what he can do? He is going to install bird spikes in the gutters Hope they work, this job is not going to bring him much money as the materials are very expensive. I feel bad I reckon he is working for nothing as he has to buy more materials.0
