Maiden name on Title - Selling a property
propertyb
Hi all
i own a property with my brother, we are in the process of selling it but the title register is in my maiden name. Prior to completion I will need to sign the transfer doc (TR1). Can I sign it with my pre marriage signature or post marriage signature? My solicitor has a copy of my marriage certificate. Any advice much appreciated.

In which name are you selling? You can choose either, if it's your current name then the marriage certificate is a sufficient link in title. Think your signature (if it's legible!) ought to match whichever name you're using. Your solicitor should be advising you on this anyway.0

I’d guess you sign with your married name and the marriage certificate provides the explanation and the legal proof.
But the best advice is to simply ask your solicitor rather than random strangers on the internet.0 -
We just sent our marriage certificate to the solicitor for proof of changed name. Job done.0
