Switching Advice - Duel Fuel

Options
I'm currently with Octopus Energy on the uSwitch Fixed Tariff ending 7 April 2021.
Thinking of switching to a longer term tariff with EDF (Simplyonline 2 Yr Fix Dec 22 v2) in order to achieve known financial cost for a 2 year period. Can't seem to find any similar long term tariffs with Octopus.
Octopus have been superb in terms of customer support and service, which makes the prospect of switching quite difficult for me as I do value supplier quality very highly.
The EDF tariff will certainly be more expensive between now and April 2021, but in the long run, it should be cheaper than any tariff I might choose in April next year, if I delay until then.
The other component in the decision process is the prospect that the EDF tariff does require the consumer to have a smart meter installed at some stage. This might be an issue as I don't particularly want one, and also as I have solar panels, I'm not sure if it's technically possible.
Would welcome any thoughts or views before I make any hasty decision.

Octopus have a couple of 24 month tariffs, just go here:
Do not click on the 'get a quote' button, just enter your post code.

Before you opt for duel fuel check with getting from separate suppliers, gas from one, leccy from another.
It is often cheaper that way

The 24 hour tariffs tariffs you mention aren't visible when I enter my post code for some reason. I'm guessing they've been filtered out by reference to my computer cookies.
Have tried an alternative browser using VPN, but that has only brought up the "Agile" and "Tracker" tariff options.

What you should be seeing is a long list of all the published tariffs, cookies should have no impact on that.
So you type your post code and hit enter, then you see the list...
If you are seeing anything else you are probably hitting the 'Get a quote' button which you should not do...

Thanks - got them. Unfortunately not as competitive as EDF
Might take up Farway's suggestion and shop around for single energy supply tariffs.

Always worth checking for gas and electric on their own.
Also keep in mind that Octopus have no exit fees so you can hop from one tariff to another when something a little cheaper comes along and each change resets the clock on the fix of course.
... but if you want a simple life then finding a 24 month fix you are comfortable with isn't the worst idea.
