  • Hi all

    Glad to hear everyone is feeling ok and chugging along with their plans.

    I have ticked off a few jobs today. Most of the presents wrapped and sent. All cards sent. Rather tired now. Last week at work so going like the clappers to get it all done. Looking forward to Christmas!

    The loan will be in the 7s in the early new year. Getting on for nearly half paid as it started in Feb this year at 13600. That includes all the interest so the actual amount owed is lower.

    I have a skirt to finish and a dress to alter. Then l am going to have a go at making knickers over the holidays. And maybe a dinosaur pj top, to match the bottoms l made a few years ago.

    The end of 2020 is in sight, rest is in site and possibly the end of Covid too?? 👍

  • Hi gang,

    Alas, best laid plans... Ended up coming across a bit of a curve ball last night just as I was finishing up at work so ended up having to work to 10 o’clock last night trying to get it fixed then went straight to bed. What a life, eh?!  :# No cow last night... might just sack it off and send her some flowers rather than stressing over it... :#

    Chickpea curry was ok last night. Nothing to write home about but good enough for a wee mid-week tea I guess. There are leftovers so I might have them for lunch. I imagine OH won’t want it again in the politest possible way...  :D

    Sorted YNAB. I bleeding love it. Have I mentioned that before?!  :blush:

    Might listen to some Dave Ramsey podcasts today while I work, but he is annoying me with all his anti-mask rubbish so I may need to turn him off, or find a pre-COVID episode... :smile:

    Got a gift voucher from work for christmas. Will have a look for a wee treat. :)

    Free kindle book. Only 1/3 in and I already want it finished but I’m too tired to read it at nights. Ha ha, book be gone! Does anyone else get like this but still persevere...or is life too short?!  :D

    could it be pepped up with a bit of curry powder and a pinch of salt perhaps? or maybe a couple of veggie stock cubes? I find this help if I've made something a bit "thin" tasting

  • Morning folks

    Quick post before I start working. I'm in a kick-off meeting all day (remotely). As far as I can tell, it's my job to sit and listen. Bit boring but I intend to crochet and/or wrap presents while I'm at it as long as I don't have to be on camera!

    Sill not feeling quite right in the tummy department so I'm going to treat it with kid gloves from now until Christmas. I don't want to be ill at my mum's again (assuming we are allowed to go).

    Managed to finish up the cross-stitches last night and marzipan the Christmas cakes. Not sure how the cakes are this year. Feel a little dry. I don't feed ours as OH doesn't like the "raw booze" taste but I poppoed a bit of brandy onto m-i-l's and my mum's. M-i-l would never complain about the cake but my mum wouldn't hold back with any comments. I know I should have got more marzipan as I had to roll it a bit thin to cover them.

    On a nicer note, work have bought me a hamper as we aren't having a Christmas party. It's a John Lewis one so probably cost far more than the contents are worth bless. It's got a bottle of red wine, a bottle of white, Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, choccies, fudge, cheesey biscuits and various other cookies and nibbles in a nice wicker basket. Very kind of them. OH and I have decided that as my tummy is off, we'll put it all away until we have OUR Christmas day on the 28th Dec. OH has already suggested mulling the red wine and is eyeballing the cheesy biscuits hungrily :grin:

    Have a good one all

    Morning gang :smile: Woke up at a respectable time today :smile: Nice to have a coffee in peace and watch the sun rising :smiley: I have already made madam's lunch, unloaded DW then refilled. Last night I made a face mask using some of the scraps from my dress - want it to be a zero waste project :star:

    Today:
    * TOMM - kitchen
    * check fridge to make sure nothing goes to waste

    * load of washing & put away yesterday's didn't bother as not enough for a full load :)
    * meal from meal plan
    * NSD - should get quite a few of these over the next few weeks :wink:hurrah have managed not to spend anything :)
    * sewing - dress should do zip, hem and topstitch spit. Maybe even put the sleeves in. Although it always takes more time that I think! Also make headband and a couple of scrunchies with scraps so didn't get as far as I hope, but then again I never do and things always take longer than I anticipate! But all I have left to do now is topsticth the spilt, make a couple of minor adjustments in fit and add & hem sleeves. Feel confident it will be done on Sunday when I next get a chance....
    * finish off a set of sanitary pads that are a gift for someone
    * some form of exercise
    * stick to diet - fell off the wagon last night :y  so far so good :)
    * some xmas activity with madam this evening. Will either be crafting for going for an evening walk to look at lights  we opted for a painting session. Just what she needed, she's been in a funny mood recently....

    Think that's al I need to do. Hope you all have a great day :smile:

    I managed to post on last week's thread :#
    Anyway, found my way back here now. Today I have:
    Early morning dog walk, not raining today for a change!
    Packed an ebay parcel, sold 3 more things, so will pack those as well once paid for
    Cleaned handheld G-Tech vacuum cleaner and listed for sale on FB. I bought it for our many stairs, but have hardly used it, as it hurts my arthritic hands. Not sure if it is the ideal time to sell it, but it can sit there on the site after Christmas.
    Took dog for grooming appointment. He isn't impressed with his new look :D
    Made some (savoury) mince and veg pies, one for dinner, two for freezer. Made a pack of mince go a long way!
    Made 10 mince pies (the sweet kind) with the pastry scraps :)
    Rescued a pair of shoes that had been languishing under some stuff in the hall. Washed and stuffed with newspaper. Will polish them once dry, and put them away, as I should have done in the first place!
    After dinner I will wash my hair and mend a pair of cushions whose trim is coming loose. Maybe pack those ebay parcels as well, so I can post them tomorrow assuming the buyers pay up!
  • Morning folks!

    Been awol yesterday as I developed a really nasty sinus headache? Migraine? on Wednesday and it made my whole face tender. Felt a bit better yesterday morning and it seems to have pretty much cleared now. I was supposed to be in the gym this morning but work asked me onto the morning call which directly coincided with the class time. Oh well, the gym will be there another day!

    I finally finished up a wip that should have been done 2 years ago. Baby blanket... baby is a toddler now. There were yarn supply issues etc etc and well, at least it's finished now. I will offer it to the parents (they were given a different gift at least). If they don't want it, I'll save it for the next baby. It's now washed and blocking.

    I have also wrapped nearly all the pressies. OH's last gift arrived just now, and there's one non-Christmas festive gift for him that I'm waiting for. I emailed the company on Wednesday and they've sent a replacement. Other than that we have hampers to put together for my nan and my great aunt and some gin to bottle for OH's brother. Then the chocolates to mkae for my sister-in-law.

    Right I best get on, the shopping won't pick itself up! Must nip to the bank to put in some money and OH wants a hair cut.

    Have a good one all
