For a product costing in excess of £100 you have s75 protection which holds the credit provider equally liable with the retailer. What have Argos said about the problem ? How much "within 6 months" are you ?

A bit more detail needed before anyone can advise
'practically fallen apart' - well have they or haven't they ? Is it a potential manufacturing fault, bad assembly at home or misuse ?
'Argos have not been helpful' - in what way exactly ?0 -
You absolutely have the same rights against the card company as you have against Argos and can claim against them.
Be aware, though, that they card company are almost certainly going to ask you to provide an independent report which you will have to pay for, but if the report is in your favour toy can get refunded.0
